Disciplining Students

Discipline for Change

Following Christ requires certain "disciplines" as will be outlined in this course. In a structured institutional setting, when residents do not follow prescribed rules and standards of behavior discipline, they need to be motivated towards change. Thus the name of this course is entitled DISCIPLINE FOR CHANGE. If students leave the residential program unchanged, the program has been a failure, and the biblical principles of discipleship have not been applied.

This teaching on counseling the drug addict is being taught by David Wilkerson, founder of Teen Challenge. It was recorded in the late 1970's at Wilkerson's Twin Oaks Leadership Academy in Lindale, Texas. Wilkerson had been working with alcoholics, drug addicts, gang members and prostitutes for nearly 20 years at the time. The advice he gives future Teen Challenge workers is still useful today.
